Yesterday we drove to the LEJ Airport on our way back from the Harz.
The first highlight just when we arrived.
The first A330F for DHL D-ALMA rolled to start on the 08R after a little break due some small technical problems.
The DHL mixed livery looks great in the sun. I love that Southern Air Boeing B777F N775SA.
ASL Ireland Boeing B737-400 EI-STP in "colorful" winter livery.
Much more beautiful than the a/w cs the DHL mixed paint looked on the Spanish Swiftair Boeing B737-400 EC-MFE.
Then the DHL Boeing B767-300 G-DHLF, whose arrival we missed, finally rolled to the start.
After the start of the 767, things became a little hectic. An Air Bridge Cargo B747 and a BOX 777F landed and a BOX B777F rolled to the start.
We drove quickly to the 08L, because the next highlight was on approach: Turkish Airlines Airbus A321 "Euro League" TC-JRO
I've been to LEJ so many times, but I have not photographed any landings on the 08R yet. Great light at the next highlight, Kalitta Boeing B747-400 N741CK
Then we decided to drove home with a short stop at the parked airplanes.
An DHL Boeing B757 and the departure oft TC-JRO were good to see and of course the IL76 had to be photographed.
The next Airbus A330F for DHL, D-ALMC, also looked beautiful in the evening light.
Regards
Lutz

Re: LEJ Airport Leipzig 14/10/18 - DHL A330F Training flight
Yes, that's true... LEJ is a big DHL Hub... you may find many mixed liveries with the yellow tail, many full c/s DHL airplanes and some more cargo airplanes.
And of course there are many Antonov AN-124 around, but unfortunately they were not moving on sunday.
(And I got many pics of them standing on the parking position on our last visits, so I didn't looked at them this time. )
There was a white AN-12 parked on the apron, but it wasn't possible to get a picture of it.
I have some more pictures, some yellow ones and some others.
Here again the departure of the new DHL Airbus A330 D-ALMA on the 08R... very nice to see it.
Next picture shows an airplane in a different colour.
The Air Bridge Cargo Boeing B747-400 VP-BIK was one of 3 747 of the day.
(I only caught two of them, the Polar Air Jumbo passed us on our way to the airport half an hour away from LEJ.)
After the landing of the third 747 (Kalitta, as shown above) we started the "normal" tour around the airport.
The first one we saw was this small Robin HR200 from Flugschule Hans Grade in Schönhagen near Berlin with the Reg D-EFHG.
Then Lufthansa arrived with their CRJ 900 D-ACNN
This Boeing B757 G-DHKR is one of the newest DHL airplanes, it is delivered on 8/10/18
And when I was standing on the ladder with the 70-300 on my cam, they pushed the Turkish Airbus, so I tried to catch it again on the taxiway. Unfortunately it was much bigger than the Robin..
But at least I got a picture...
I hope, you liked the yellow planes and the others.
Regards Lutz
