Upcoming F-22A deployments

On December 16 two Raptor deployments were announced,

12x F-22A from 1 FW(Langley AFB,VA) to Kadena,Japan

12x F-22A from 3 Wing(Elmendorf AFB,AK) to Anderson AFB,Guam

Both deployments should be for approxamatly three months.

Deployment will start in january 2009, no fixed date yet.

HAMPTON-
The 27th Fighter Squadron from Langley Air Force Base will deploy more than 500 airmen and 12 F-22A Raptors in January to Kadena Air Base in Japan.
The squadron will spend about three months in the western Pacific, according to an Air Force release. The squadron first deployed to Japan in February 2007. Another Raptor squadron from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska is scheduled to deploy to Guam. The two squadrons will be conducting security operations in the region.
The Raptors are the Air Force’s newest attack jet fighters.
