Hiya,
Next week we will visit a bunch of fields in southern England. Can anyone advice us on spotting possibilities at Southampton, Lasham and Manston.

spotting at Lasham ans Manston
Hi,
Spotting at Manston is really easy to do. There are different platforms on each side of the road to the terminal which can be overlooked pretty good. Also at the fireschool (opposite to the Manston memorial museum) aircraft can be seen, especially at the crashgate where the wall ends.
Spotting at Lasham is more difficult since new gates have been constructed. On the civil side there is a museum which is easy to check. At the other end, there is a company for maintenance of airliners. I think it's called ATC and is signposted from the road. There were actually three gates from were to look. One is the officially gate to the tower, one in the middle which ends at a carcompany or something and one officially for ATC. The middle one seems to be the best option. Ypu can always ask if you can have a look in the hangars, did that a couple of times.
Greetz,
Michael
