London Heathrow from ATC tower

Post by worldliner »

Hello everyone,

I just returned from the UK last night. Have just quickly edited three photo's. I know the quality could be better and I need to photo shop them a little better but I just couldn't keep them to myself any longer.

The angle is probably not as spectacular to me as it is to many others, but I like your shots. :thumb:

We entered the tower. There are two lifts, one on the inside and one on the outside of the building. We took the outside lift because it had a window with great views.

The views were stunning! The weather had been very dull all morning but luckily it cleared up a little bit. We were able to see all arriving/landing/taxiing planes. It was breathtaking, photo's do not discribe it as well as I remember it.

We stayed for over two hours until we had to get back again. A life time Xperience 4 me.

PS: If anybody can advise me with changing the colours of the photos (they seem rather green to me) please let me know.

More to come,
Miles Copping

Great shots! Stunning views! And this is in the Auto mode, just wait until you use RAW. Then getting out the green as you correctly stated will leave more info in the picture, now you have to adjust the JPG with your CS3 PS version.

(=> Click on the black/whithe circle in the layers palette and select Curves. There from the roll out menu select the green channel and pull the upper right dot in that diagram a little downwards, just a tad. Check the other 2 colors Red and Blue just to be sure. You will need a bit of practice with this. Check WB while you are at it and voila, a simple correction with big results)
