Someone have a clew.
Remember the takeover of BMD:s in Kramatorsk. Are they airlanded? According to code numbers 700, 800, and 900 areas it must be a lot of them. BMD is a light APC belonging to the Russian air assult forces. Ukraine also have them. The fighting were around the Kramatorsk air base.

Re: Unknown Il-76 landed in Luhansk, Ukraine
Personally I think we have to be carefull in assessing this type of movies. My first impression after seeing the movie is that the Il-76 is landing in heavy cross wind and bad visibility conditions, while the remainder of the report is perfect blue sky, so that does not add up. Besides, if you have a camera present with a plane landing, than give some more details... In this environment providing misinformation is also a strategy and this seems like it.
It is clear that Uncle Vlad is up to something, which is among others preventing NATO to move to the East. Having said that: Daddy Bush already promised the then president (I think it was Gorby) that NATO would not expand to the east, yet it did... Now after Poland also Ukraine expressed interest, so the reaction of Russia is not exactly surprising. And if you have president who is Ex KGB director, two terms president, one term PM and then president again; than you easily predict the direction of his moves.
It is likely that both sides are providing misinformation, so it is difficult to differentiate from here... Fact is that Russia is already for some time probing the strength of the West

Re: Unknown Il-76 landed in Luhansk, Ukraine
A lot of information from Ukraine is manipulated of russia in a manner of Maskirovka.
All suspected information must be shown and analyzed. I have seen a lot of information from covert sources in Ukraine. The result is not a nice picture. Only russia want to hide and destroy information.
This information is concerning aviation and organizations around it. Other information is about other matters.
And Elvis does not live in Ukraine.

Re: Unknown Il-76 landed in Luhansk, Ukraine
Does anyone have, after 2 minutes of intensive thinking, really the opinion that in such a conflict only one side is manipulating certain news? How naive ... Never, in any conflict in human history, only one side told the absolutely truth and the other only lies.

Re: Unknown Il-76 landed in Luhansk, Ukraine
Hammarö I do not agree with you therefor I analyzed the news item and found an official statement from the Ukrainian MoD concerning the Il-76, the same counts for the satelite images which were relaesed by Ukrainian Government: especially the analysation of the images concerning Buturlinovka, Yesk and Primorsko. Who is manipulating information? I think the incompetent Ukrainian Government, but who am I.
Let's stay away from politics and only post clear "reliable" information.

Re: Unknown Il-76 landed in Luhansk, Ukraine
This is one of several incidents since beginning of March. Several concerning aircraft and helicopters. I have seen more than hundred incidents newly with manipulated information. Judged by others. Even with sources from AP and Reuters. I do not write and participate. I only listen. One way to open a discussion is to show it like this subject. But as I see is it not possible to get forward.

That's impossible in a situation as in the Ukraine. Unless we can could get 'objective observers' in.... who volunteers?Poljot1 wrote:Let's stay away from politics and only post clear "reliable" information.
Info from Hammaro is very welcome, even if later proven wrong or simple propaganda.
Erwin
P.S. and if you ask me, opinions are welcome too, although some higher power may move that to another section at some point
