Wondered if anyone can shine a bit more light on these codes.
In Spain a week ago I noted Typhoon C.16-72/14-30 '10147' (at Albacete) and A.400M T.23-04/31-24 '10174' (at Sevilla). Now I see in the new AFM a photo of NH.90 ET-813 '10209'. That Typhoon is a recent addition, and yet there seem to have been 60-plus of these codes allocated since it was handed over. The Spanish are not getting new aircraft at such a rate (at least I don't think so!) Does something other than aircraft/helicopters get allocated these codes?
Regards
Simon

Re: Spanish 10xxx numbers
Perhaps other material is indeed getting inventory numbers in the 10xxx-range. Or could it be that the 10xxx-serials are allocated in batches prior to production?
