All was seen during our two hour wait for our flight to Sharjah. The terminal has an excellent airside viewing point at the end of it. The taxiway is very close and the runway right behind it. The Hawks all flew and on the taxiway they can be read without binoculars, on the runway you do need bins though. Also the military ramps are visible, but only some planes can be read due to the way they are parked. Also some helicopters were flying, but into the wrong direction, so no serials.
One Hawk might be a misread, the 111. It was a twin seat example starting and ending with a 1, but the serial (in Arab) didn't look like 101 to me (the only possible 1x1 serial according Scramble database). Anybody know if there might be more Hawks than the ones listed by the Scramble database?
The Do.228 was parked on the far end of the military/government ramps and was in full camo. According Scramble database there is only one (serial mentioned), but I cannot be sure it was that one. By the time I saw it we were already pretty far up....

Hi Erwin

Your Hawk was most likely 101, but 105 was also present with the detachment, however 105 is in the new three-tone c/s so should be easy to tell apart.

The two BAC 1-11's are 551 & 553.

If the PIA B.737 you saw was 'parked' on the military ramp, then it is AP-BEH. A main leg collapsed on landing 12/2/13 and it has been there ever since.

The Do.228 must be A4O-CQ.

Hope of use.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the info. The fifth Hawk certainly was not 105, it ended with a one (and was in the same camouflage as the other twin seat). When taking off I did see six Hawks on the flightline, so that 105 was probably there and did not fly in the morning. 101 it is then, probably just didn't get to see the serial correctly for some reason.
The two BAC's I found indeed to be 551 and 553, 552 should be somewhere else according to Scramble database.
The PIA 737 was indeed on the military ramps, looked like it was there for a while already. Just too bad it had to be one of the two I already got...

Thanks again!

Hi Erwin

Yes, there were 8 hawks in total on detachment, so if you saw 2 take off and six on the line, you got them all!

The third BAC.1-11, 552, is here at Masirah, in the fire training area.

Muscat (OOMS/MCT) - 2013 MIL

Indian AF PC-7's at Muscat

Hi All

I saw two aircraft at Muscat on Friday 21st March, radio call signs were PC92R & PC93P.

I now think they were PC-7's on delivery to the Indian Air Force, with HB-HCC & HB-HCD looking favourite.

However, to be sure I would really like to know when they left Stans and also were they logged anywhere else on the way?

Many thanks.

Hi Chris,

Have a look at the Stans topic in the Europe section of this message board. There's a message from Stephan Widmer which confirms you saw the HB-HCC and HCD.

Best regards,

michel

It is also confirmed by the Swiss civil aviation register as both have been strikken recently from the register.

Uhm, no, I wasn't that lucky :-)
I saw 5 flying and they all returned before we left. Then at take off I saw 6 on the line. So I saw 5 for sure and at least one more, but obviously no idea which one the 6th was.

Anyway, I am not complaining, I expected a Herc and maybe an A320, but I got a lot more. :worship:
