Re: NEWS - Winterschedule 2010 / 2011
I have a question about COA. Is Continental going to use their B772 again from IAH - AMS - IAH again? Or do they stay with the 764?
Thanks
Thanks

A quick look on http://www.continental.com shows no B772 equipment on the IAH-AMS route throughout the wintertimetable and also not for the 2011 summertimetable, only B764s. I think it is unlikely COA will use B772s on a scheduled basis into AMS as they are no longer part of Skyteam.

Apparently, the MA F100 flights (+ n/s AMS) have been cancelled, while the morning and evening 737 flights remain, operating almost on the same times as KLM...

Re: NEWS - Winterschedule 2010 / 2011
From 1 January 2011 the PVG-AMS-PVG B747-Freighter flights of Great Wall Airlines will become part of China Eastern CARGO. China Eastern is expected to join SKYTEAM in 2011.
China Eastern Airlines (CEA) said its new cargo carrier, combined China Cargo Airlines, Great Wall Airlines and Shanghai Airlines Cargo. The new freighter airline will commence operations Jan. 1, 2011 from its base in Shanghai. China Eastern Airlines will be the controlling stakeholder in the new entity.
CEA acquired Shanghai Airlines last year and signaled it would combine the two carriers' cargo subsidiaries. Earlier this year CEA took a 51% stake in Great Wall, which operates three 747-400 freighters based at Shanghai Pudong.
Great Wall's stakeholders include Singapore Airlines while China Ocean Shipping Group and Taipei-based Eva Airways hold stakes in China Cargo and Shanghai Airlines Cargo, respectively.
Shanghai is China's largest domestic air cargo market, but it is dominated by FedEx, UPS and DHL rather than domestic operators. In the next few years CEA will allocate more capacity to Pudong to open more international routes and boost flight frequencies on existing international and domestic trunk routes.

Re: NEWS - Winterschedule 2010 / 2011
As already mentioned by some others, Emirates will, unfortunately, not fly to SPL with the A380 this year.
The reason I mentioned the possible start of it, with some reluctance, was due to the fact that several colleagues (my work being ATCo at LVNL) were in serious talks with Emirates about how to handle this.
I did not post this with the idea to get some minds racing, but tried to be ahead of the stream of rumours I expected to start once this 'news' would come to light. Apologies if my intentions were not clear from the start.
Kind regards,
Ard
