Lufthansa hesitated at first, but in August 2023 the German airline decided: the seventh and eighth Airbus A380 will also return to service.

On Friday (September 13th, 2024)
the D-AIMA also left Teruel for Frankfurt.
On Sunday (September 15th, 2024 ) the aircraft also flew to Lufthansa Technik in the Philippines in just under 13 hours. This means that all eight of Lufthansa's remaining A380s have left their long-term parking spaces and have been reactivated.
