The Russian civil war

Post by ehusmann »

It seems it has started last night with Wagner now going full steam to Moscow. First aviation casualties already on tape. Reportedly two Mi-8MTPR downed near Rostov, one Mi-35 downed near Rostov, later another Mi-8 was seen burning in a field (probably not one of the other two, but that's not confirmed) and now also a movie of an An-26 going down in flames. Scary times... but whatever goes down in Russia cannot be used in Ukraine, so that's a good thing I guess.

And in other aviation news, Lukashenko has sent his CL-850 to Turkey and multiple biz jets have been seen flying out of Moscow in the direction of Turkey...

Prigozhin and Belarus president agreed to 'de-escalate situation'

BBC Monitoring

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko
has held talks with Wagner mercenary group head Yevgeny Prigozhin
during which Prigozhin agreed to stop his troops and "de-escalate the situation",
Rossiya 24 news channel said.

"Prigozhin accepted Lukashenko's proposal to stop the movement of Wagner in Russian territory
and on further steps to de-escalate tension," Rossiya 24 said,
quoting Lukashenko's press service.

It also said it was proving "possible to find an acceptable variant of de-escalating [the situation]
with security guarantees for Wagner PMC's fighters".

Rossiya 24 said the conversation had been agreed with Putin.
