Rumours indicate that the Sanicole Airshwo and the RNLAF Open Dagen team are working on getting a very special team to the Netherlands: The Thunderbirds. As this was mentioned on other forums, I am not resonsible for this rumour, just want to shre this rumour with you. Schedule of the TB 2011 will be released in December.

Strange reason to move the Open Days IMO.
Move an event with 250.000 attendants for some village events with only about a 1000 people or so.
It's all about priorities isn't it![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

As BAD told us last time the show was at EHLW, taking in account the local events is not about priorities, it is about good neighbourship and seniority of the local events. Of course you can try to look at the pros of this move: as the pilots have had more time displaying their demos, they might fly them better compared to the start of the season, when the airforcedays have been held for quite some years now.Gietje wrote:Strange reason to move the Open Days IMO.

That's not totally true. These pilots practice their routine throughout the year. Reds do that in Greece, Our Dutch demo of F-16 and Apache have also months and months op preparation.
it's not like: Ow =censored=, it's 3 weeks from now till the first show... Holy ==censored==, what's the routine and how are we going to fly it....
First timers could have some small errors in their routine, but that's the world of aviation. No one can be perfect the first time right? As pilot you do have the control of your plane, but the weather has the control of your flight.

I think you don't get the point. Every time a demo pilot goes up the performance normally improves. Just because they learn from every flight. At the start of the season they have all that training, at the end they still have all that training (and also some in-between training probably), but also the demos flown during the season, making the whole thing even better. (and of course nobody can fly perfect, firsttimer or at your last show after a multiyear tour as demopilot. As admitted by the Reds themselves, they never fly a perfect demo, not in the beginning, not at the end of a season)topgun1984 wrote:First timers could have some small errors in their routine, but that's the world of aviation. Also known if they fly a routine with 4 hunters or a mix of hunters and strikemasters? (I have to say as a full strikemasterteam at Volkel I thought their performance was a great show.)Nielis wrote:Don't know if it is already posted but Team Viper will be at Leeuwarden according there site: http://www.teamviperdisplay.com/

Maybe they can combine something with this?defensie.nl wrote:Israël stelde ook prijs op training in het blussen vanuit de lucht. Dat gebeurt met flexibele waterzakken die onder de helikopter worden gehangen. Nederland zal op een later moment alsnog gevolg geven aan dat verzoek.
