Also known if they fly a routine with 4 hunters or a mix of hunters and strikemasters? (I have to say as a full strikemasterteam at Volkel I thought their performance was a great show.)Nielis wrote:Don't know if it is already posted but Team Viper will be at Leeuwarden according there site: http://www.teamviperdisplay.com/

Maybe they can combine something with this?defensie.nl wrote:Israël stelde ook prijs op training in het blussen vanuit de lucht. Dat gebeurt met flexibele waterzakken die onder de helikopter worden gehangen. Nederland zal op een later moment alsnog gevolg geven aan dat verzoek.

Back in September (days 16 and 17), the Dutch base in Leeuwarden will provide a framework for the Open Day of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, an aeronautical quoted in Holland, is more important than margarine and cheese ball and of the most unique in Europe. The formation of the AGA acrobatic show their skills there.

I have seen a RN Lynx pair show at Eggebek. Don't know if they called them the Black Cats those days?

That should still leave other goals for the show to accomplish, like showing off the capabilities to the tax-payers and creating some (now even more welcome) goodwill amongst the population (since Hillen said he only praised the troops last Thursday, because he was scared about his own contra-cuts-demonstrating military personel, being in his very close proximity at that very time). IMO in these days it will be even more important for the armed forces to do this, else Dutch defense will become even more an inside focussed organisation then nowadays, which is something the parliament already complained about during the Lynxbya debate.Hornet69 wrote:Hi all,

The dutch defence cutbacks are now known. The armed forces need no personel anymore. Infact they have to fire about 6.000 employees. The dutch airshow at Leeuwarden has lost it's most important goal which is to attract young people for the armed forces. So the airshow at Leeuwarden will be probalably cancelled.
Again this is a RUMOUR!
Grtz,
Edward.
Maybe they can turn the show into another chance: This is what we can, there are 6000 out there that can do the same! Do you know someone that needs someone that can do this to: contact the MoD!
Besides that, this is not the first time a lot of military people will be made redundant, (and during these times the show was always on) and Hillen also made it clear there will be a necessity to take up new challenges for the military, which capabilities are not on board at this moment, and capable personel should be found for this (cyber warfare).

Well, the 6000 employees which are to be laid off, are mainly civilians and "older" military staff. There will be need for new young "canon fodder", so recruitment will continue, even with the upcoming cuts.Hornet69 wrote:Hi all,
