Weather was bright and sunny at Cambrai today. Not a lot of aircraft (5xM2000 + 2xRafale) but perfect photo conditions.

We stayed untill the last flights of the day and at 16h00 they launched another 4 aircraft that recovered at 17h00

Me, my brother and an other spotter stood there between 11h00 and 13h30 and had no troubles. We went again from 15h50 till 16h05 and the Gendarmerie came to ask us to leave as the guys in the control tower saw us, but in a very friendly way. So you have to be lucky who's in the control tower, who are the base guards and who are the Gendarmerie if you ask me.

I have been busted by the cops while I was there last time. It looks like it was not an isolated incident and it occurs more frequently than I thought. Bear in mind before you decide driving a few hundreds clicks that the cops could ruin your day ! The first time they will ask you to leave the fence; the second time they will take you to the gendarmerie and precious time and money will be lost.
My 2 cents.

Maybe the base may close soon but the aircraft remain active.... . Only at a different airbase.Nice, ill have to go soon shame the base is closing soon.....

Superbe! Yesterday a French Fighter Pilot told that at the and of March all the planes will leave the base. So it's the last month to see the Mirage at Cambrai!

indeed, 30 March is the disbanding ceremony of 1/12 at Cambrai unfortunatly, after that it will be very very quiet in the Northern part of France...
