Noted on October 19 at the military side of Lomé airport were 2 MiG-23MLs. One had a Soviet style bort number in white, which looked like either 26, 28 or 29. Colour scheme was tan. All noted while taxying with Eyeball Mk1. Could anyone shed any light on this? Libyan defectors with a phoney bort number?? All info (no speculation) much apreciated.
5V-TAI, the Government F28 was also seen BTW.

Re: Lomé (DXXX/LFW) MIL
You want no speculation...but you speculate yourself about them being Libyan Defectors?? That's 2000 miles away, with two countries between them!!
But the are the former Bulgarian Air Force Mig 23MLD's 204 and 219. They were delivered to Ivory Coast but after a few check flights allready diverted to Lome/ Togo. Not sure if they have ever really been part of the Ivory Coast air force.
Here is a link of one of them, coded CH (from TU-VCH apparently). Picture is claimed to be taken at Lome.

Many thanks Arjan. If the picture was taken at Lomé it's not where they are parked now: on the apron in front of the big Military hangar on the NE side. Cheers.
