On our way to Zeltweg! Day 7, Zeltweg.
Mr. Blok and I and are spending some time in Germany on our way to Zeltweg. We do not know if we will make it because the clutch is shaking (of his BMW ).
Here are the first pics of some musea that we visit 2day.
After seeing the Noratlas in Minden we went to Buckeburg. It was 26 year since I've been there and I thought nothing changed the last 100 years but.... there are new helicopters in a new Building! On the ground floor is a Swiss Alouette;
And further upstairs are 4 more a/c. This UH-1 joined the a/c in the old building.
The Museum in Laatzen has the usual signpost;
A Do.28 is at the entrance;
The new building for the Techniek Museum is warm and humid and dark....
Kaasjager!
This NC.702 is great! Bordeaux has one too I remember (and Etampes a while ago). I didn't understand what it is doing there but the original a/c is a Siebel 204, and that sounds German.
The a/c at Tegel are not in a to go shape.
2morrow we hope to visit Finow, Cottbus, a museum in Poland and some other wrecks. Later in the week some operational stuff with GRAS reizen!
Grusskottie!

Re: On our way to Zeltweg!W&R and some airfields! day2
Yesterday, Day 3 (27th). Very sunny day, to unny for a transtit day. But on our way to Munchen we passed some nice a/c.
Jahnsdorf has some very nice ex mil a/c. There were 3 ex NVA Zlin 43's, this is one of them.
The terminal is guarded by a L.29;
The museum @ Fichtelberg was closed but a nice machine let us in, they have 6 a/c;
A bit away from the terminal in Bayreuth another MiG.21 is preserved;
Manching was quite. But there was some testflying being done, a soon 2 b Police National Argentina Eurocopter flew cicuits;
Highlight of the day @ Augsburg! Deu to new construction works is was very hard to find, it will be surrounded by buildings soon;
Landsberg;
Jesenwang is a very relaxed lttle flugplatz. Even the runway hits the road. We saw some dorniers and other oldtimers;
And to end the day in a very sad way (for most of us ) we ended up at the 4 Grumman Gooses near Munchen!;

Re: On our way to Zeltweg!W&R and some airfields! day2
Day 4, finally some more operational stuff. Because thursday might get nasty (our basevisit day with GRAS) we tried it today in sunshine. In an hour 5 came in;
The dual had some special mks (from Laage?);
The visitor;
Afterwards Donauworth, a nice green, yellow, bleu roundel EC135 was standing on the flightline (D-HECR). Others included;
This G.91 I wanted to see for years. Luckely it was still there, will it be next year?;
Via some other W&R we went to Laupheim;
The F-84F at Memmingen is still at the deserted base, the F-104 we could not find ;-(;
Nice Haldenwang F-104G;
Hurt my leg while cleaning the G.91 (from the branches.....) at Lauben;
And # 14 of the day was Bad Worishofen!;
At the end of the day we went to 14 places on which we saw (ex) military a/c, a new record! As you see I didn't bore you with all the pics of like a brown painted Heuy or phantasy coloured Yaks.... All thanks to EMOOS and TomTom!

Re: On our way to Zeltweg!via W&R and some airfields! day 4
Nice ones, thanks for sharing.
Just in case you missed it: There's dustspots on your sensor, one is visible at the pitot of the Starfighter close-up, the other in the lower right corner of that same picture. Better clean it before Zeltweg!
Have a safe journey!

Finally an almost all operational day! With GRAS we visited Lechfeld and Kaufbeuren, in the morning 10 Tornado's flew!;
Preparing for scrapping also started this year at Lechfeld to unterstutz Jever they said. We saw 3 of them. After al the W&R I will also not bother you with the preserved a/c.
After Lechfeld we went for a very quick vist to Kaufbeuren, there are 6 Tornado's there;
1 Piaggio P.149;
4 Starfighters (one gate guard);
1 Heuy;
There are also two Phantoms and 2 real EF.2000's. On the 16th July the third will arrive.
After we went to Landsberg;
We finished our day at Oberpfaffenhofen;
Thanks GRAS!
Tomorrow Neuburg but the weather will not be too good....

How 's the clutch of that Beamer after so many kilometres?
Interesting photos!

Re: On our way to Zeltweg! no W&R ;-) but JG74 & WTD61! day 6
Actually this belongs to "this is how we work" but it was during our excellent GRAS visit to Lechfeld yesterdaymorning. At the runway treshold a few guys thought to be smart to climb a small "slope" to get better pics, only to find out this was a giant ant's nest.
It was great fun to see these guys first taking their pics of incoming Tornado's, followed by strange dances and lots of leg scratching Strangely some guys like Lucien and Alex never seemed to be harmed by the ants at all..

clutch need to be replaced but so far so good, fingers crossed. We will make it. Would be ok if it brakes, just to get some rest .Stratofreighter wrote:How 's the clutch of that Beamer after so many kilometres?
