Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Hi all,
THNKX for ALL tips & trics on my post on Schiphol EHAM 05-12-2010.
As a rookie I am "drinking" every tip & tric ! I do NOT want to become a clone of anybody; but what I don't know I simply ask
All tips / trics / comment are welcome to help me get better - I want every picture to get better than the previous one. So help me get better !
One for now taken at runway 27 ( Buitenveldertbaan ) ( heavy cropp because of 18-55mm lens )
camera settings :
Canon EOS1000D - 18-55mm kit - TV - ISO 100 - F-stop f/5.6 - exposure time : 1/160

ISO 200 may help getting a sharper shot.. And I think a kitlens is not the most ideal lens to shoot those fast movements, at least that's my experience.dvdzee wrote:Hi all,

With a higher ISO and faster shutter speed for the next time you are probably more lucky with the outcome!

I already adjusted the shutterspeed to 1/500 ( after some reading on the web ) and set the ISO on ISO 200 for tomorrow !

Douwe...
Question for you, that lens of yours, can you tell us what your aperture values are? is it F5.6 on the whole reach, or for instance a F3.5-5.6? Please be adviced that the most lenses will not perform at their best with wide open diafragma. For example, my Nikkor 80-400 F4.5-5.6 is allways set to F8, then it's much sharper then wide open at F5.6....
If you have questions, let me know....

Values between F/8 and F/11 are often the best for airplanes (in most cases however)wild weasel wrote:Douwe...
