After Stefan showed his photos of a normal 1984 flying day at Brüggen, several people said that was a great! idea. Three weeks later I thought it was time to continue where he stopped.
On a Thursday in July 1985, two days before the first Air Tattoo at Fairford, I was at Yeovilton and had a truly wonderful day.
A small part of the platform, as seen from the entrance of the FAA Museum.
The FRADU operated some very old Hunters GA11s back then.
And Hunter T8Cs
And of course the FRADU flew with several types of Canberras.
Classic Sea Harrier FRS1s.
The base flight had some prehistoric Sea Herons C20s.
But this Heron C4 (not a Sea Heron) of the Flag Officer Naval Air Command (FONAC) was the cherry on the appelmoes.
Also based in that time where Lynx, Sea Kings and Wessex.
RAF visitors were two Buccaneers from 208sq.
And an Andover form 115sq.
If anyone likes to see the numbers (50!), please tell.
