PICTURE: United, Continental unveil new branding for combined airline
By Mary Kirby
United Airlines and Continental Airlines have unveiled the new visual branding and livery they will employ after their proposed merger is completed.
The new logo displays the combined company's brand name, United, in capital letters in a custom sans-serif font, joined with the global mark that has represented Continental's brand image since 1991.
A corresponding update of the airline's aircraft livery will adopt Continental's livery, colours and design, including its blue-gold-white globe image on the tail, combined with the new-style United name on the fuselage.

"The new visual identity builds upon the significant value of each airline's current brand, while advancing the combined airline's future brand image," says United in a statement.
United and Continental's proposed merger was recently approved by European Commission regulators, who concluded that the tie-up would not damage competition.
A review by US antitrust officials is also standard protocol for receiving clearance on a merger deal.

Actually, the font used for the name is different. In all of the original info on the merger, it was written in the font currently used for the Continental name.Stratofreighter wrote:Nothing new really...

Next question will be: are they going to reregister the fleet?

I think there's not enough room in the American register to make all CO-aircraft N...UA or vice-versa.....ehusmann wrote:And the blue looks brighter as well...
