Does somebody has any information about the aircraft collection at Awaji-shi? So is it a musuem or a privat collection. Are the aircraft visible for outside or if it is a museum what are the openinghours?
In advanced thank you very much!

Michiel

What I make of it is it's a collection belonging to an industrial complex, the Mitsu Seiki Company, it has several sites but the collection is partly visible on Google Earth 34 27'31.18"N 134 51'36.49"E and the majority is preserved outside. Some of the aircraft inside were photographed so you can allways ask in your best Japanese. This Japanese link gives some info about the preserved aircraft:

Re: REQ: Awaji-shi
Thanks a lot for this information. Somebody else send me the following links:
http://www.mitsu.co.jp/
http://www.kansai.meti.go.jp/english/tv ... 9_list.pdf
The company can be find in the second link at number 326. The collection can be visit during mondays till fridays at working hours. Most of the airframes are outside.
Too bad I planned to go there in the weekend. I am not sure the planes are visible from outside, for that the image at Google Earth is not good enough.
So if anybody has any information about this, in advanced thanks a lot.

Michiel

Re: REQ: Awaji-shi
Some of the photo's in my link were taken "over the fence" so I think most if not all aircraft outside, can be seen and/or photographed albeit not in the best conditions. Another Japanese spotter visited this site on a sunday (on his way to Komatsushima open day) and reported all outside aircraft as well. So I think it's worth trying in the weekend!
Good hunting.

Re: REQ: Awaji-shi
Been there today, LR-1 22004, UH-1H 41669, T-1B 35-5862, F-1 70-8207 and KV-107 51816 are outside and easy visible from the public road, T-3 01-5533 and OH-6D 31122 are inside and might be visible thrue the windows behind the aircraft parked outside. Photographing will be difficult tho when there outside visiting hours. Most of the pics in Sadammies link were not taken from over the fence/hedge, but from the inside. When scrolling down, only the T-1 and UH-1H were taken from the outside and behind some trees.
Good Luck
