July 14th flypast Paris
Hi ya all,
I'll be spending a few days in Paris, coinciding with the Quatorze Juillet celebrations and of course the big parade over the Champs-Elysées.
Is there anyone who knows a good spot for taking photographs of the flying participants. Preferably a bit elevated. Could La Defense be an option and if so which building will be open?
Many thanks for your help!
Cheers,

In this old topic you can find some discussion about this subject in 2008.

Hi Sjoerd,
A good place to be is still the "Musée de l'Informatique" on top of the "Grande Arche" at "La Défense", opening at 9 or 10 in the morning.

Thanks a lot for your help guys!
@Tintin
Thanks for advising me the Grande Arche. I've seen a few youtube movies, but I it only allows you to take head-on and belly photographs. I'm actually looking for a (preferably elevated) position to take some side shots. Any idea if some of the skyscrapers at La Defense are accessible?
@ Banter
Found you something on the same site that Tintin mentioned:

Found you something on the same site that Tintin mentioned:
Mardi 29 juin

Re: July 14th flypast Paris
My French is not that good, but do I understand that there will be a formation training flight over the Champs Elysee at the 6th of july ?
Can anyone tell me what time this will take place ?
Does anyone know when the aircraft for the static display near Place de la Concorde will arrive ?

Who can tell me from where those planes will depart? I suggest that they are not all flying from their home base.
Hopefully someone can tell me where we can expect all ( or most of those) planes.
greetings Ralph

As in past years, Creil AB should be used for many aircraft with arrival on the 13th

I thought last year Evreux was used for participating a/c, for the fighters and Le Bourget for the Aeronavale helicpters.
Looking forward to hear from you.

Re: July 14th flypast Paris
Yes, that is what it says. But it also says that this might also happen on "spare" days 7, 9 or 12 July -depending on circumstances. More importantly, this training flight will take place with the formation leaders only, so a much reduced number of aircraft.Copter wrote:My French is not that good, but do I understand that there will be a formation training flight over the Champs Elysee at the 6th of july ?
Finally: did this rehearsal take place yesterday?

I confirm you that most of Adla fighters and some helicopters were deployed to Creil AB last year.

Thanks Tintin,
Do you (or someone else on this forum) know something about the photopossibilities at Creil ? The Scramble airfield guide is not so clear about this.
If I look to Google Earth it looks like the approach of runway 25 is quite a challenge. Runway 07 looks more open
Regards

Several Aeronavale helicopters arrived at Le Bourget already, see: http://lfpb-didairbus.blogspot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
