Hello,
On 8-01-2010 I made a short visit at Richmond AFB.
This field is near Sydney and is the transport base from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF)
The C-130's are based here.
I have seen the follow:
A97-001 C-130E RAAF
A97-002 C-130E RAAF
A97-003 C-130E RAAF
A97-004 C-130E RAAF
A97-006 C-130E RAAF
A97-008 C-130E RAAF Special c/s
A97-010 C-130E RAAF
A97-011 C-130E RAAF
A97-012 C-130E RAAF
A97-167 C-130E RAAF
A97-442 C-130J RAAF
A97-447 C-130J RAAF
A97-464 C-130J RAAF
A97-466 C-130J RAAF
A97-467 C-130J RAAF
A9-....... P3 Orion RAAF
A20-624 Boeing 707 RAAF Special c/s
A20-..... Boeing 707 RAAF
A20-..... Boeing 707 RAAF
A20-..... Boeing 707 RAAF Romp Section Only.
The P3 was unable to read.
The 707's are stored. Only the A20-624 has a serial on, the other 2 complete ones where without a serial. the last 707 was only a romp section on the ground. the other 3 707's where still complete.
Does Anybody maybe know what the serials are of the other 707's?
Grz,
Thimo

G'day Chicago,
707's (not 100% on this but pretty sure its right):
..629,
..623
..261
I'm not entirely sure which ones which but the three aircraft you saw there are meant to be heading off to the United States to join the Omega Air international fleet. It was scheduled for the beginning of this year, but seems to have been delayed. The romp section is A20-627 and Omega are in fact restoring this section so that it can be placed on display at the RAAF Museum at Point Cook.
You must have been at Richmond in between when two USAF C-17s were there, Dover based 077178 and March 055142 were there.
Regards (from Sydney)
PS. Hope that wasn't you about to be spoken to by the RAAF police for taking photos in the carpark across the road!!!

Re: Richmond (YSRI) 2010 MIL
Today I noted 2 707s without any titels/serials next to A20-624. Do you know which ones they are from above 3? Thanks!g9001 wrote:707's (not 100% on this but pretty sure its right):

Also seen 1 P-3 Orion with special blue tail. Not sure about the titels on it but something with "2000" anybody a clue? Thanks!
