New year, new opportunities for all aircraft manufacturers.

Airbus starts with an order from Turkish Airlines for 20 A320 family aircraft. It will be a mix of A319 and A321, but exact numbers not yet finalised. Check the press release on the Airbus website.

The first export order for the Chinese ARJ-21: Lao Airlines orders 2 ARJ-21!

The same article mentions that the first ARJ-21 will already be delivered this year to a Chinese airline.

And an order announced today at the Bahrain Airshow:

Yemenia - Yemen Airways (IY/IYE) has signed a deal with Airbus for 10 A320s.

Another couple that I almost missed:

China Southern Airlines (CZ/CSN), has placed an order for 20 A320s from Airbus.

Ethiopian Airlines (ET/ETH), has ordered 10 B737-800s from Boeing.

Turkish Airlines announced today that they have placed an order with Boeing for 10 B737-800 and 10 B737-900ER and also options for 15 more B737 (not specified). Short press release on the THY website.

And anonunced at the Singapore Airshow:

Hong Kong Airlines (HX/CRK), has signed a deal with Airbus for an additional 6 A330-200s. This brings their total of the type on order to 23.

Air Canada Jazz (QK/JZA), has signed a letter of intent with Bombardier for 15 Q400NG and 15 options.
This would be the first order of this type for the airline.

Republic Airways Holdings, the parent company of Chautauqua, Frontier, Midwest, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, has announced that it has signed an order with Bombardier for 40 CS300's and taken options on another 40 of the same type.
This is the third order for the C-Series (along with Lufthansa and lessor LCI), and brings the total on firm order to 90.

United Airlines (UA/UAL) has signed a definitive contract for the purchase of 25 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and 50 options.

Tajikistan airline Somon Air (4J/SMR), has signed a deal with Boeing for 2 B737-900ER aircraft. The airline currently operates 2 B738s.

Hawaiian Airlines (HA/HAL), has announced that it has ordered 1 A330-200 in addition to its previous order of 6.

Following the confirmation of this order, United has now signed the firm contract with Airbus for 25 A350-900s, plus options on an additional 50 aircraft.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS/MH), has converted it's MoU signed in December into a firm order for 15 A330-300s with 10 options.
In addition to this, the company has ordered 2 A330-200Fs to be operated by it's MASKargo subsidary.
