Boeing have announced that the second Dreamliner production line will be sited in Charleston, South Carolina.
This will be co-located with the manufacturing plant for fuselage sections that Boeing bought from Vought, and the Global Aeronautica facility. No date has been named yet as to when this assembly line will be up and running. Boeing have also stated that testing and delivery will also occur at the Charleston site, which avoids having to ferry the completed aircraft to Seattle to complete the test program for each aircraft and delivery to customers.
As far as I know, this will be the first time a Boeing commercial aircraft has been built outside of Washington state.
Press release from Boeing can be found here.
