Req: spotting conditions Poland?
Good day,
the Radom airshow is getting closer, and interesting enough for a trip to Poland. I am also interested in visiting some other Polish airfields, only the airforce stuff.
Deblin
Krakau
Warschau Okecie
Minsk-Mazowiecki
Does anyone have experience on these airfields, from the outside? And is it worth going to, for the movements?
Thanks in advance,
Michel

Re: Req: spotting conditions Poland?
- Only went to Deblin to spot the gategaurds, never went around to check the operational stuff
- The military side is on the soutwest corner and their stuff is only readable from the road around the base. If you take the road from the airport terminal in northern direction and follow it counter clockwise (keeping the airfield on your lefthand) there are some gaps in the trees surrounding the field between which you can read off the based stuff. If you work your way to the west you can read of most stuff. You need a good scope though.
- Warsaw could be done from the parking deck, but I heard that they build a new one obstructing the view onto the military part. Maybe there's a way getting onto this deck.
Haven't been to the other fields..

Minsk is in the airfield guides,
For Okecie, there is a visitor terrace but against the sun, for the mil apron, walk to the end of the new terminal and make pictures from the stairs and spot from the inside, forbidden!, for approach onto rwy 11, go to the Media Markt at Al. Krakowska, cross the street onto the spotting hill.

Thanks for your help in this, I have just one question left about Minsk Mazowiecki. How is the flying activity over there?

Michel

IIRC, I read somewhere that the deck is closed due to construction. Don't know if it's true though.Piet Luijken wrote:Minsk is in the airfield guides,

Re: Req: spotting conditions Poland?
There will lots of activity prior to the airshow as some of the airshow participants will based there, but normally on a flying day there are typically 2 sorties / day with 4 aircrafts. Not a whole lot.michel N wrote:Thanks for your help in this, I have just one question left about Minsk Mazowiecki. How is the flying activity over there?

I've got one more question. I am flying to Krakow, and I saw that, with a small detour, we can go to Mielec. Is there anything from the Mielec factory visible, and does anyone have any experiences here?
TIA,
Michel

Re: Req: spotting conditions Poland?
Is there any schedule or any system on which days fying activity is scheduled on which airbase?
I heard about an internet site (of the Polish forces?) where flying days should be published on a weekly basis?
Could anybody give me a hint or send me a pm?
Thanks ...

Hej!
What about the conditions at Malbork?? I was wondering if its fine and allowed to do some spotting from the outside there? I will be in Gdansk beginning of September. It seems opportunities are good, especially with western winds and landings from the east!
But how is the situation these days, with regards to security and photography?
Thanks in advance!

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.
