I know that the contract for the a300 is extended for an extra 2 years.
Think that it's a contract for a wet-lease of 5 years.

Re: Onur air fleet info 1992 - 2010
Also the MD-88 are sold last week.
The first one will leave the fleet this month and the last one will go in december.
Sadly i dont have the info of the new buyer.
Replacments for the MD-88 will follow this year.
They will be replace in the form of A320

Re: Onur air fleet info 1992 - 2010
Where are the OHY 330s serving to?
Only a few years ago OHY served Amsterdam/Dusseldorf/Eindhoven with several weekly flights but this Summer they are very rare, as lot of the flights are cancelled... What happened?

No touroperator who buys seats.
Afew years ago Sky, Sunexpress, Pegasus and Corendon didn't excist. Now they do.
So touroperators have a choice now, as they didn't have in the past.

Re: Onur air fleet info 1992 - 2010
XQ: founded in 1989
SHY: founded in 2000
PC: founded in 1989
CAI: founded in 2005
I flew the following airlines more then just a few years ago
2003: Corendon (Eindhoven-Istanbul)
2004: Sky Airlines (Eindhoven-Antalya)
2004: Pegasus (Amsterdam-Antalya)
I think the touroperators always had many airlines to buy seats from.
Atlasjet, Inter Airlines, Air Anatolia, Alfa Airlines, BEA, Fly Air and MNG Airlines.
There is more diversity in airlines nowadays.. But over the years the amount of Turkish charter airlines has been same.
Isn't it just because passengers don't trust OHY anymore so touroperators prefer other airlines to fly pax to Turkey?

It sounds very logical but...B767-300ER wrote:No touroperator who buys seats.

Re: Onur air fleet info 1992 - 2010
For the last few years, particularly since that period when OHY were banned from NL etc, they have appeared regularly at Manchester, and other UK airports. They seem to have reduced in number slightly this year, as Saga, Sky, Freebird and Pegasus have added flights - we get 4 flights on a Friday, one on Saturday and 2 on Monday. At the peak a couple of years ago we would get 7-8 on a Friday, plus 1-2 every other day. Aircraft now are 320s/321s, whilst in the past a lot were operated by A300s.

Re: Onur air fleet info 1992 - 2010
I already heard that Pegasus and Sky are also flying to Manchester now. Onur is not anymore 'market leader' but a carrier operating on background. That explains also the big fleet growth of SunExpress, Pegasus and Sky Airlines.richarduk wrote:For the last few years, particularly since that period when OHY were banned from NL etc, they have appeared regularly at Manchester, and other UK airports. ..still wondering why this happens now instead of right after the OHY-ban a few years back. But that could be an issue of money.

Or Pegasus,Sky, Sunexpress didn't have enough aircraft at that time, right now they haveBoudewijn van Oirschot wrote:I already heard that Pegasus and Sky are also flying to Manchester now. Re: Onur air fleet info 1992 - 2010
A few years ago Sun Express already had relatively a large fleet. Pegasus did very well indeed, they bought quite many aircrafts.. as well as Sky Airlines.
But such a big difference in one year, that's the most obvious thing for me.. It's still aviation.

Re: Onur air fleet info 1992 - 2010
MD-88 are also sold to Khors Air Company
Gladly i could say that in 2011 Onur air will be seen more often in NL than the past 2 years
For political resons the past 2 years they focused on the uk, but because we closed some great deals with some operators in the nl we will be flying about 16-18 flights a week with in 2011 with the a320 and a321.
Sadly the 6 a300 and the 3 a330 will stay in saudi
but more action from onur air this year
