According to RT News, Russia will give 10 Mig 29 fighters to the Lebanese Air Force.
In addition the Russians will train the Lebanese military personnel, and possibly supply other land based technology to the country.
The aircraft will be modernised before sent to Lebanon.

knowing the Israeli AF I think they will turn it into an even smaller force on an even tinier base as soon as they come too close....Arjan wrote:I seriously doubt if the Israeli AF will be much impressed by such a small force on a very tiny airbase.
Hope the Lebanese visit the RIAT before the Israeli's do so....

Re: Russian Mig29's for Lebanon
The Israeli do not have a dispute with the Lebanese but with Hezbollah.
A stronger military force in Lebanon will hopefully help to stabilize the country by removing all terrorist cells in the south, which will help Israel eventually.
Expect the MIGs pretty soon, though, together with tanks and so...

hi Piet,
You are correct in that! I will not argue the point. Guess you will put yourself up for the Beyrut flight more often then
Best regards and happy new year!
