Air crash investigators will today begin piecing together the mystery of what caused an experienced pilot to crash his topdressing plane into a hillside near Tarata yesterday.
Kevin Ross Brown, 48, was killed when his Cresco 750 crash-landed in a paddock near Tarata, about 19km east of Inglewood, about noon.

Unfortunately this is a fairly regular occurence back home.
Most of the airstrips that they operate from are one way in, one way out, often short, and can be surrounded by high terrain. There are plenty of accidents involving topdressers, almost always during takeoff, but they generally don't end as badly as this one.

Yorden
