I thought it would take three years before the next Kecskemét, and the 2008 one was the 2009 event brought one year forward because of the jubilee. Well, let's hope it will become an annual event now, having three in a row now .
Anyone who knows if the Fulcrum will still be in service next year August?

They're holding an airshow in 2009 to commemorate 60 years of NATO, 10 years of Hungary's NATO membership, and 5 years of EU membership.aviodromefriend wrote:I thought it would take three years before the next Kecskemét, and the 2008 one was the 2009 event brought one year forward because of the jubilee. Only six or so Fulcrums are still in service and according to a reliable Hungarian source Fulcrum operations can stop any moment. I would be highly surprised if they would be still around at the show in 2009 which would be fantastic of course!aviodromefriend wrote:I thought it would take three years before the next Kecskemét, and the 2008 one was the 2009 event brought one year forward because of the jubilee. It is rumoured that the HuAF will buy a dozen or so L-159s from the Czech Republic to re-equip Dongo squadron. The retirement of the MiG-29s will most likely also mean the retirement of the L-39's.
Greetings, Paul

Hi all,
If I remember well, last years show had some kind of shuttlebus running
from the station up to the airfield. Lets assume that there will be a similar set-up next year, could anyone advise me which station in Budapest will
I need to go to, to catch the train for the show as there are two railway
stations in the City of Budapest or so I'm told. Also does the train which goes to the show go on to Szolnok afterwards. Plan to visit air museum there.
Regards, WireFox.

Trains to Kecskemét departs from Nyugati Pályaudvar/Western Railway Station. It has an M3/Blue Line metro stop.WireFox wrote:Hi all,

To Szolnok both Nyugati Pályaudvar/Western Railway Station and Keleti Pályaudvar/Eastern Railway Station is OK. You can get to the Eastern Railway Station by the M2/Red Metro.
You can check the exact schedule on this website, but the next summer's timetable is not available at the moment:

Re: Kecskemét 1/2 August 2009
The countdown has started.
I'm happy to see that they also invited a 'BigMac' last year it had a great display. It would be also great to have finally a Flanker here. It seems that they gave up the idea of Chinese participation but invited India. What I'm missing are the Tornado and the Phantom...

Unconfirmed, but probably Swiss F-18 demonstration according to this post at Flugzeugforum. In past years, this preliminary schedule has proven to be a good indication of the Swiss demos. Murcia should be removed though.
