This week i'm walking the Nijmegen marshes for the 5th time. To bad i've got blisters this week. At day one i've spotted a AAC Gazelle at resting area3 near Oosterhout. And if i'm correctly it has to be the XZ295 of the 12th FLT. Today at resting area3 near Oosterhout Al-3 A-292 from 300Sqn was spotted there. We'll see what the next days will bring. For day three the third resting area is near Groesbeek and the fourth day at the other side of the river near Cuijk. I'll keep you informed (if i'll finish on friday).

Hi Elvin, first I'd like to wish you some great days and good luck with walking.
The last few years I went to Cuijk to see some helicopters during the last day of the Vierdaagse. In the beginning (some years ago) some Alouette III's & Bo-105's could be seen. The last years you can be happy with only one Alouette III. Last year I saw one Alouette III, but after this helicopter departed the "heliport" was closed because of bad weather.
Found this (part of a) message about the Vierdaagse at http://www.sgvolkel.nl/forum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . The message is post by Tiny which is one of the regular visitors of "Cuijk Heliport" during the last day of the vierdaagse. The message is only in the Dutch language (sorry ) :

Hallo,

Another post from Tiny which I found at the SG Volkel forum:
Hallo,

Manny thanks Copter, Sorry it took a wile before the next adjustments, but it was verry croudy at the internet stand on camp Heumensoord. But i have good news, I made the finish with 5 blisters 2 infected heels and a irritating toenail.
On the first and the second day there was also a unknown Grob 109 cirkling arroud the area.
At thursday Al-3 A-301 from 300Sqn flew over the route a few times. Also A couple of F-16's made a few passes over the circut (one with centerline tank and one with 2 wing tanks, probably Volkel based ones). After we passed resting area 3 a Chinook came overhead witch i could not read.
At friday, The last day of the Nijmegen marches Al-3 A-275 from 300Sqn landed at the bridge near Cuijk. on the way to the finish i saw a unknown Cougar flying overhead. At the militairy finish (Shalamanje)i spotted 2 Cessna's PH-PVG + 1 with comercials behind them. Also a unknown EC-120? with blue colors cirkling overhead. and last but least Bo.105C PH-RPS kept an eye in the sky.
Special credit and also congratulations to fellow spotter Marco Dirkx.

Hi,
On Tuesday at Oosterhout, the Gazelle was indeed XZ295, the Alouette III I noted there was A-247, but there could very well have been two?
A-292 was present at Wednesday's third rest area (Beuningen).
A-301 was on Thursday first noted near Mook (first rest area) and then was seen several times in the air all the way up to Groesbeek. Indeed a CH-47 passed overhead (we where near the Canadian War Cemetery at that time) but was unreadable.
Nothing to add regarding Friday: A-275 at Cuijk, an unknown Cougar overhead the Via Gladiola, and PH-RPS overhead Charlemagne read by Elvin.
'Till next year!
Marco
Thanks Elvin , glad we made it both, and I hope your recovery will be quick!De Verrekieker wrote:Special credit and also congratulations to fellow spotter Marco Dirkx.
