Sorry for interrupting - just two questions.joost wrote:SBS-1 is showing this to be a C-130 93-7311
1) Which SBS-1? A prviate one or any on-line accesible?
2) What kind of military airplanes can be seen on SBS-1 at all? Every? None? Only military transport aircrafts? Or maybe depending on avionics (onboard equipment) of an aircraft?
TIA!

2 All Military planes sending Mode-s Signals can be monitored on SBS-1, in priciple all aircraft must have a Mode-s transponder.
Yes I can, Airplanes visible on those streams or at any SBS-1 do also have a ADS-B transponder onboard who is transmitting lat-long info.
With that lat-long info SBS-1 can generate a sort of radar image.
Airplanes not equiped with ADS-B or with ADS-B installed but not transmitting lat-long info will therefore not be vissible.
They do however sent a Mode-S signal, and SBS-1 has a Table besides the radar screen where you can see all the Airplanes who have been tracked by SBS-1 including those not sending lat-long info
Most of the Mil traffic do have ADS-B transponders but you guessed it already I think, they do not send any Lat-long info. So they will be displayed in the table beside the screen but will not pop up on the screen.
Hope it is of any use
Grtz
