Hi there,
As have joined this Forum a short while ago, but enjoying it to the upmost I have learned some discrepancies, which I would like to bring to your attention.
The threads "Civil news" and "Military news" only accept messages in the English language. As the "Scramble Messageboard" is originated in The Netherlands, there is lots of news for that thread, which is available in the Dutch language. So there will be a theshold in posting.
The same happens with (bad) news about Precautionary landings/crashes which occurs on Dutch airporst/airfields.
The breaking news will be done by the Dutch news agency ANP od by Dutch media. These reports will be done in the Dutch language.
If a member wants to post this message, there will be a delay, because of the fact that you onlly accept a post in English.
Therefore I would like to propose the following:
1. The threads "Civil news" and "Military news", will be open for dual posting; that means that posts can be made as well in English an in Dutch.
2. Consider a new topic, called e.g. "Mishaps." In that topic one should post in English as well as in Dutch all crashes etc.
Be aware. My message to you is no critic. I'm only trying to advise you on some simple changes, which could benefit the "Scramble Messageboard".
Yours truly,
Rockville.

Hi Rockville,
Thanks for your supportive message.
The choice for English only in these areas has been made to keep the info, usually concerning more than just the Netherlands, accessible and updateable by all users. It is our experience that nearly all our posting users are able to do so in English, and in case of braking news a short translation is easily made. Alternatively, users can just post a link to a news site.
If we make these forums dual-language, we expect to exclude quite some users from part of the info (in Dutch), something we want to avoid in these specific forums. Like in the mag, we try to serve a public much larger than the Dutch community in certain areas, and gather news from all over the world. Postings show this is actually what is happening, so I think we will stick to the present setup for a while.
Feel free to try and convince us with more arguments, if you still feel like it!
Erik
