Hello,
I' am considering a visit to Meiringen or Orange
during the WK/Chef de Mission and have two questions.
Does anyone have experience with spotting at Meiringen
in january regarding the position of the sun.
What can be expected at Chef de Mission besides JBG-32
Regards,
Ronald N.

Difficult choice!
Indeed Meiringen is a great place to be where the photo-oppertunities are great but I have my doubt if there will be any sunshine in the valley in January.
I've been to Orange several times and always enjoyed myself. Check the airfieldguide from Scramble for the photospots. Views on the airbase is possible from more than one angle. Flyingactivities are not that great as it used to be, but maybe you catch the odd Brazilian F-2000!
So if you want to see a lot of action I would favour Meiringen during the WK.
Good luck with your choice, happy spotting and show us your log and photo's!

Indeed, a great place for photography, but even if the sun shines in January it is not coming over the mountains. So definately no sun on your pictures. Have no experience at orange I'm afraid.Indeed Meiringen is a great place to be where the photo-oppertunities are great but I have my doubt if there will be any sunshine in the valley in January.
