Special painted 30+25 should make it‘s last flight on 16.03. or in this week and will be written from use afterwards. So the next tranche 1 Eurofighter will leave the flying wings.

The last flight of 30+25 happened in the afternoon of 16.03. with one of the rarely seen brake chute landings.

Saw elsewhere that it will be a ground instructional frame for a while, and later will be on display somewhere (no more details at the moment)

Rumors say, that it have less than 1.300 hrs on the clock, but was overtaxed in the past and now is like having 6.000 hrs.

Noted active on 30.03. were the following Eurofighter GS/GT of TLwG 71:

30+07, 30+28, 30+31 (GT), 30+40, 30+58, 30+71 (GT), 30+98, 31+44.

Also flying were Top Aces with A-4E C-FGZH/534 and C-FGZD/367 and Alpha Jet A C-GLTO/069.

Obviously making it´s last public appearance was special painted 30+25. It was photograhed by a small group of photographers on the base taxiing on the taxiway and runway and later earned a special fire service water splashing salute.

Eurofighter GT 30+31 of TLwG 73 did two touch and go´s before making a fuelstop at Jagel. It departed from Jagel after lunch via Wunstorf (overshoot) to Laage.

An unidentified MFG 5 NH90NTH did an high overshoot.

If I understand well, Wittmund will be closed for a long time later this year, due to construction works.

Does anyone know when the base will be closed and for how long? And where will Top Aces move for the time being?

Any info would be highly appreciated.

The base will be closed from February 2022 to October 2024, plus minus one month.

Top Aces are planned for Nordholz and TLwG 71 should be go to Laage.
