Re: Wunstorf 2020
Hi all,
Since I was in the area, I made a short stop at Wunstorf last Sunday (23-2). Because of the heavy wind and later also rain, I struggled to identify all A.400s present. These were read off:
54+06
54+10
54+11
54+13
54+14
(54+23) c/n 083
54+25
54+26
54+28
54+29
Plus two that were blocked out but seemd to have c/n 029 and 068 in the tail. 029 would be 54+02, while 068 is no German aircraft. Possibly 069 (54+18)? Or 063 (54+15)? Any help with these two would be very welcome of course, possibly based on recent (SBS) sightings of the candidates before and after the weekend somewhere in the world.
Oh, the instructional C-160 and all the usual inmates of the museum were also present, just like the Do.28 fuselage in a garden near the threshold.
That's all folks!

Re: Wunstorf 2020
Noted here on 5.3. were the following A400M of LTG 62 on the ramp:
54+05, 54+07 (just landed) 54+14, 54+25, 54+29, 54+30 plus three more unidentified. Flying as PRIMER and refuelling ship over southern Germany was 54+31.
Away in the world were 54+22 (Al Azraq), 54+24 (Niamey), 54+28 (Afghanistan) and 54+32 (Nellis AFB).
The detachment at Al Azraq will continue after the return of the German TLwG 51 recce contingent at the end of March.
Leaving for Norway and low level flying training should two A400M on 7.3.
Colonel (Oberst) Ludger Bette will hand over the wing to Oberst Christian John on 24.3. during a change of command at the base.
Some 170 additional posts will come to Wunstorf when a new "Luftumschlagszug" (air reloading point) will emerge at the wing to replace/supplement the one at Köln-Bonn. The tactical component of LTG 62 (presumably 3./LTG 62) will transfer to Lechfeld probably as Lufttransportgruppe Lechfeld and not as an own wing.
