NTM2020 & NTM2021
Overheared today at NTM2019 that next year 2020 will be Portugal (Beja mentioned but Monte Real seems more likely) and 2021 KeeBee in Belgium.

Re: NTM2020 & NTM2021
Hi,
After talking with portugese crews, it seems that NTM2020 will held at Beja instead of Monte Real because of more room space and closer to training area.

So far, almost if not all Tiger Meets that were held in Portugal in the past have been at Beja. Well, 2 out of 3 actually: 2002 and 1996. Only 1987 was at Montijo.

Re: NTM2020 & NTM2021
But in those years the tigermeet was held at the base of the tiger squadron. 301 was based at Montijo with Ginas, then Beja with Alpha Jets, now Monte Real with F-16s.
However, the last years not all, but many large exercises have been helt at Beja (Hot Blade, Transport meets, Trident Juncture, Real Thaw) for the exact same reason Bruno already mentioned: ramp space and access to training areas.
Lets hope 37BS shows up again with their B-1s next year

Re: NTM2020 & NTM2021
Hello everyone and first of all a happy and healthy new year.
As a complete newbie in terms of spotting at Beja, can anyone here point me in the right direction for spotting infos regarding good spotting points around Beja airbase?
I already searched the forum albeit it seems I am a bit too stupid or blind to find the right thread for spotting positions around Beja. I'm a member to the forum for quite a while now but the airfield database for Beja seems to be only accessible for subscribers?!
I hope I am not too much of a nuisance but can anyone of the more experienced members here give any good advice on spotting conditions around Beja beyond any public Spotter-Events?
Many thanks in advance.

As one of the contributors to the above mentioned thread (12 years ago!), I can add a bit more on Beja.
Beja has one good spot, the south side. From the civil terminal you have a good view on landings from the south. Take offs in the same direction are no problem either, though I guess for pictures you will loose some wheels. If flying is from the north you will see all the take offs climbing out, landings only if they exit at the end of the runway (which is not always the case).
Views on platforms are limited and very far. If you follow the road that passes the terminal you eventually get some views all the way to the P-3 platforms and hangars. Reading is near impossible, at least for fighters. Transports are often parked closer to the runway and very early in the morning you can make some of them.

Many thanks for the replies. Well, so it is as I feared. That tidbit about the south terminal is very helpful however, many thanks ehusmann, much appreciated.
I guess Beja is not the best place for spotting then and it might be reasonable to limit an NTM visit to any potential public days (if something will be done and one is lucky enough to get a slot?!) and maybe the one or other day around such an occassion for a visit to said terminal.
Many thanks again for the intel.
