2x 5 makes 10? I thought there were 8 expected, that's a nice surprise :)

who was expecting 8? They should supply 8 per mission, which means more planes are needed in order to support.
This has been communicated only 100s of times already at the different news sites.

As clearly stated on the dedicated defensie.nl page: United States brings 8x F-16.

But no problem to me, the more, the better

I shouldn't take this too literally. It is just how the communication-employee at the MinDef HQ interpreted and formulated the article. He/she probably can't tell from which side of the aircraft the hot air emerges and most likely really doesn't care too much about spare aircraft etc.

Risky business and indeed subject to a big change. Last year several times the cross of the F-15's to Europe was delayed due to bad weather conditions. So maybe some or all F-16's arrive during the weekend. Keep an eye to NOTAMs for Leeuwarden.

Not 100% sure if connected, but KC135R 62-3502, callsign Roma 22 landed at Duluth around 05.00z this morning. So pretty sure this will be one of the 4? tankers doing the AAR en route LWD.
And just to be sure, this won't land in Leeuwarden...

no!! How will you supply 8 in the excercise with only 8 in place? You do need spares. Like every other participant they will need to bring spares. How difficult is this to understand? This is standard practise already for years for every excercise.

I believe the 2 spares of Marcovh refers to the 4 tankers being used. Not the 10 F16's.

:please!: Last attempt and then I will give up. We can expect 10x F-16. 8x for flying within FF and 2 spares for FF. Are you really not reading any other source than Scramble? Please check your pix of all previous years and you will see that not all of the aircraft flown in the morning are flying in the afternoon, but the number of aircraft is the same. So in the afternoon are flying the morning mission spares.
