Hi all,
On 24-6-1984 I visited Ramstein Airshow where I saw two unidentified USAF H-53’s. I think one was parked somewhere on the opposite side of the runway, the other one was flying. According to my log a CH-53C from Sembach and an HH-53C from Woodbridge.
BAR has 70-1625 for the CH-53C
Scramble had 68-10924 for the CH-53C
Can anyone confirm which one was present at Ramstein on this day and maybe someone for the second one?
MTIA!
Paul

An old Ian Allan Publication "Military Aircraft Markings 1984" has both 70-1625 and 68-10924 as being a CH-53C flying for 601 TCW. Couldn't it been just those two CH-53C in stead of a CH-53 and HH-53?

Hmm, i have 10924 in the book on the 24th at Ramstein (no picture, so not sure if it was flying or static), i noted 1625 the day after at Sembach, as far as i recall it was on the ground, so not arriving from Ramstein.

Hi!
1984 was only the beginning of my spotters career and therefor my documentations are rudimentary.
I visited Ramstein open house 1983, 1984 and 1985. Following the timeline, I have MH-53J (?) 70-1630, which
must have been noted in 1984. It had numerous flags and a noseart under the right cockpit window.
Maybe that helps.
Cheers
