China Airlines will replace A340-300 with A350's last quater of 2016.
China Airlines will receive 4 A350s in 2016, 6 in 2017, and 4 in 2018. The primary purpose of the A350 is to replace the fuel-guzzling A340-300. After the first delivery in 3Q 2016, CI will launch the A350 on the following long-haul routes:
First Phase
Taipei-Taoyuan (TPE) to Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS) via Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi (BKK)
Taipei-Taoyuan (TPE) to Vienna (VIE)
Taipei-Taoyuan (TPE) to Rome-Fiumicino (FCO) via Delhi (DEL)
Taipei-Taoyuan (TPE) to Vancouver (YVR)

Fuel guzzling? An A340-300 uses less fuel per seat km than a CRJ-900.
