Re: NEWS - Winter Schedule 2009 / 2010
Lithuania Express (Vilnius) is a new subsidiary of Iceland Express that plans to start operations later this year with a single B737-700 wet-leased from Astraeus (London Gatwick) offering low-cost services from Vilnius to destinations such as Amsterdam and Berlin.
Interesting response from Iceland Express & Astraeus today 12.10.2009:
Budget carrier Iceland Express and its sister wet-lease operation Astraeus are denying suggestions that either are linked to a start-up airline in Lithuania.
The Lithuanian Development Agency states that the carrier, Lithuania Express, will operate Boeing 737-700 aircraft to eight European destinations from Vilnius.
But while the agency links the start-up to Iceland Express, a spokeswoman for the Icelandic airline says there is "no truth" in the claim.
Iceland Express' flights are conducted by its UK sister company, wet-lease specialist Astraeus.
Sources within Astraeus are similarly denying any link with Lithuania Express, describing it as "spurious" and adding that the carrier is concentrating on its summer 2010 programme and Iceland Express' new transatlantic route.

Re: NEWS - Winter Schedule 2009 / 2010
Good news for all Boeing 767-400 lovers. Continental will bring back their long 767 on the Houston route, replacing their Boeing 777-200ER. I think they will return to Amsterdam somewhere in January 2010.

Re: NEWS - Winter Schedule 2009 / 2010
According CZ/SPL the B747-400 freighter on the AMS flights will be replaced by the B777-200 freighter.
The first 77X is expected to be on the CZ453/4 of thursday 3 December.
The introduction of this aircraft type means also a reduction from 5 to 4 weekly flights operating with the following schedule (local times)
Day 1 and 4: CZ453 STA 04:30 / CZ454 STD 07:30
Day 5 and 7: CZ451 STA 04:30 / CZ452 STD 07:30
Parking most probably on R72 (same spot as the LAN 77X) as this is currently the only capable position for handling the 777 freighter at the "Romeo" apron.
Regards, Mike

Re: NEWS - Winter Schedule 2009 / 2010
It's off-topic, but it is because the handling material doesn't fit. So the parking position of the aircraft had to be moved back. So only the last position on the apron is usable, due to the tail reaching over the road. That's also the reason for the instated one-way road overthere.B767-300ER wrote:why is that? wingspan?MTOW wrote:

Maybe off-topic, but have these two been delivered then? As far as I know, CZ has deferred delivery and parked both at Mojave. Anyone who knows the actual situation?MTOW wrote:According CZ/SPL the B747-400 freighter on the AMS flights will be replaced by the B777-200 freighter.

No Ton he is right.
You have to read the question correct.
HEL had no Embrear service before.
So first KL flight to HEL is with PH-EZA.
