Re: Orders Thread 2009
Turkish Airlines (TK/THY), has exercised options on 3 A330-200s from Airbus.
The news report from Reuters can be found here.
At the same time, it is rumoured that they have also ordered 2 A330-200Fs for their cargo operation, although I haven't come across any reliable news reports confiming that order. If its true, there's a good chance we'll be seeing them visit Maastricht in the future.

Yorden

Not new to the rumour mill, but now really happening: Vietnam Airlines has signed up for 4 Airbus A380!!!
A short story can be found on Luchtvaartnieuws, and here is an English article. Right now it is still an MOU, so things can change, but good news nonetheless.

The order consists of 4x B737-800 from Boeing, and 3x E-190 from Embraer.

Boeing gets order for 11 Dreamliners
Boeing disclosed new orders for 11 of its 787 Dreamliners Thursday, the first deal unveiled since the plane made its debut flight nine days ago.
The orders, from one or more undisclosed customers, bring the 787's tally for the year through Dec. 22 to a net drop of 59 orders, for a current total of 851.
Boeing's website reported 46 new orders for the week, including a previously announced 10-plane order from All Nippon Airways. Unidentified customers ordered 24 737s, and the US Air Force ordered one 737. On the negative side of the ledger, unidentified customers reduced 737 and 777 orders by three each.
For the year to date, Boeing's website shows that despite 118 cancellations, the company had a net increase of 141 orders.
In an order announced after the monthly update, Air Austral, headquartered in the French-administered island of Reunion in the indian Ocean, said it will buy two Next-Generation 737-800s.
