Beautiful stuff again! These pics look as if they were made yesterday, so 'fresh' and clean.

Right, but sometimes when the days are short and the light is weak, je need some ASA CK 64 is the alternative. Beside there was a time CK 25 was hard to get.Hans Rolink wrote:Seconded! Kodachrome 25 instead of 64? No grain at all.Basman wrote:

May I ask, what is your workflow? Apart from Photoshop CS5 I see in your EXIF info, do you use noise and grain removal software?Aardvark wrote: Right, but sometimes when the days are short and the light is weak, je need some ASA CK 64 is the alternative. Haha, good question. The important thing is, always by careful with your slides. They are over 30 years old and I always tread them as a baby, or even better.
Oké I start with a triple pass scan in my Minolta Dimage Dual scan II, using Vuescan. The original Minolta software don’t support Windows 7 and Vuescan is a good replacement for the original packets. Then I use PS CS5 indeed. I use a range of options within PS and have no order, just adjust until you think it is right. Every slide is different, so every workflow in PS is different. I use schaduw/hooglicht, layers to adjust hoogdoorlatend, kleurtonen, kleurbalance, kanaalmixer, curves and of course the retoucheer pencel. Sometimes I use the auto functions to get an idea what the best options are and adjust it manually. Last but not least Imagenomic noiceware pro (plug in) for noise reduce. And then when you have a nice good quality slide you get an even better digital image.

you do more or less the same as I do with the Dimage Scan Dual II. I too found the original Minolta drivers to be no good and switched to Vuescan. Only thing is I work with CS3. As noise remover I have Neat Image. I tried Noiseware Pro to see what it would bring me and I have to say I like it. Thanks for the tip off!
