Re: RIAT RAF FAIRFORD Arrivals - Departures 2011
Interesting departure of the Ukrainian pair, prior to the Sukhoi giving us a terrific roll after take-off, the Illyushin must have blown at least four, maybe eight tyres on rotation - hope they all landed safely.

Re: RIAT RAF FAIRFORD Arrivals - Departures 2011
Hello all, finally got round to checking serials and photos... and now the questions spring up! Could anyone help me with the following please (all relating to the Saturday):
- the AMI P180 on the north side
- the RAF Rescue Sea King(s?) on the north side
- the Hawk coded "CA" of 100Sqn in the Red Arrows line (what was it doing there anyway?)
- the Squirrels that were in and out during the day (did see "00" and "74" myself, but were there others?)
- was there an An124 in Brize's traffic pattern and overhead Fairford somewhere around 15:30 lt? Or was it something else?
Addition to the list (not seen mentioned here before)
- ZZ177 C-17A 99Sqn scs arrived in the morning and departed in the afternoon
- G-PSST Hunter F.58
- G-FBEG Emb.195LR FlyBe (flyby's)
and, with the risk of offending some purists:
- replica Hurricane: "V6555/DT-A"
- replica Spitfire: "EN398/JE-J"
- the AMI P180 on the north side
- the RAF Rescue Sea King(s?) on the north side

Hi Frank, because I don't have my notebook here I can't answer all your questions right now, but the Squirrels: I've read them every time they appeared, and only saw these two.
Because I didn't buy a checklist I still have a question myself: the serials of Frecce Tricolori and Patrulla Aguilla, anyone?

Arjan

Re: RIAT RAF FAIRFORD Arrivals - Departures 2011
Just to make sure, one question about the Frecce (oh no, not again... yes, again!):
in this post, ship "5" is identified as MM54475. However, the RIAT checklist gives MM54477 for ship "5". Once again (as was the case at Zeltweg AND at Izmir), one of these logs is false... but which one? For completeness' sake, at Zeltweg MM54477 was "1" (at RIAT this was replaced by MM54517) and MM54475 was "5", the same aircraft that was logged at RIAT as "5" by René and Arjan.
