Only B-1's
What about a B-52,
or aussie F-111's with their famous fuel dump

I never forget my first Open Days at Leeuwarden in the year 1990...

At one airshow a B-1B, a B-52G and a EF-111A, those were the days...

At this time one of those would make me satisfied!

I was wondering all day what it could be, and reading the posts here I noticed no one mentiond my sugestion: THE VULCAN!

If they get it in the air by that time.

Geert.

Think not: Breitling is busy the 21st in France, and Asas is then at the Azoren (????)

Maybe something for next year  This year XH558 should stay in the UK. But if we want to keep it secret until friday, they just have to wait to get it in until friday, as thursday a lot of us will be at the base for the spottersday.

But edehtx and jb5, can't any of you arrange a "dienstbevel" to Sheikh to open up discussions at RIAT for the Vulcan coming over to Holland next year?

Leeuwarden 20-21 June - Wish list / Comments

Post by edehtx »

Hi, are you all really serious to think, that we did not contact the Vulcan guys? We know them for many years. We keep all options open and we are talking with all possible airshow acts. You're right, the Vulcan is only performing in the UK this year, but we keep on trying for next year. Main problem are the costs. By the way, we have been trying to get B1's, B2,s etc via all lobby circuits, but you cannot win them all. We are pretty happy with the Leeuwarden static display so far and because of the special noise rules in the morning hours, we are not able to schedule more jet acts. Bottom line is to offer the main public a nice show with all aspects of (military) aviation. Enjoy!

hi Stefan,

Where did you get the log of Northolt from? I took some quick shots from outside the fence and I was looking for a log to refer with.
