jeez....happy I didn't go...Volkel (I believe) had more aircraft on/above the field.....only 3 non-european aircraft......Jordan, Brasil, Oman....
What happened to the "Biggest airshow in the world".........they better go back to every other year.

I'm glad I did go on Saturday. Everyone said it would be the worst ever because no Americans, well which RIAT could be worse then 2008? The show was great, with the highlight being the BA A380 with the Reds, great tight flying. Nice Static with a Canberra, Brazilian and Greece Embraers, Typhoon line with 5 RAF and 2 Italian (to bad no Spanish and German one, or other countries), Wildcat, Corsair, Super Connie and a nice special misison portugese CASA as my favourite. You could notice that the static line was thinner at some parts, because normally the big USAF a/c's were placed their, but at the end of the day I didn't even missed them. Why, because the aircraft that were there, were great, and to me the Americans don't make or break RIAT.

In fact, the slogan on the leaflet has been changed to "greatest show of the year" which may sound the same but it isn't.
