See a lot of nice pictures of the Airbus, but can someone explain me why the registration on the nosewheeldoor is different as the last 3 letters of the registration?
Hereby one of my I took today of this giant.

Nice pics everybody =D I hope everyone had a good time at the Polderbaan or at a 'Lekker rustig op een hoekje in Zwanenburg.'
My very first sight of the beast :
Making a right turn (a bit to far away, had to crop):
In a waiting line behind a Finnair A320 (also a bit cropped.....):
Find the odd one :
And than she finally landed :
Everybody went away right after the A380 landed, an awesome sight to see!
LAN CARGO:
Actually, This A340 surprised me :
And the PH-BVD also came along..:
...
Completely white Kalitta Air Boeing 747-221F(SCD):
This was my morning at Schiphol ^^ tips are always welcome, but be gentle with me
greeeeetzzz..
Philip!

I don't get why people stand on the 'wrong' side of the runway.
For the departue (18L), light was terrible! Loads of backlit.
But in general it was a very nice day!
Some of my images (quick edit & upload):
#1: the flypast (somehow I didn't use all my zoom, had to make a crop)
#2: Almost touching down (touchdown it self was blocked by press people and some busses).
#3: Reversing op 18R
#4: Passing the spottersplace (lots of people there)
#5: Parked on the J-buffer (bad shot I know)
#6: Still parked, shot from it's behind.
#7: Headshot!
#8: Taxing to E24
#9: Going head to head with a KLM 747 (forgot to put my extra camera with wider angle lens around my neck)
#10: Taxiing towards 18L for the departue (terrible light, anyone some tips of 'saving' backlit shots?)
#11: The (backlit) tail of the beast.

Re: phototopic AMS EHAM Schiphol 15-7-2010
My contribution of today for now(wich was for me the first true encounter with 'the whale')
And of course a thank you to Maikel!
1. The fly over was a nice suprise
2. Landing 18R
3. Large!
4. And it's gone again!
Got to say that the police had it properly arranged around the runways.
Sucked that when the 380 was on final, some (@%#$) pulled up it's van in the gras...right infront of the crowd (and didn't leave after some yelling).
Was a good day, and i hope we can welcome this visitor allot more in the future!!

And also I think a whole lot of non-local spotters who don't exactly know this went to the designated spotting area. If so you will end up with a non-favorable sun position.

Re: phototopic AMS EHAM Schiphol 15-7-2010
Today was the great day a lot of spotters have been waiting for the last couple of weeks. The first visit of a Airbus A380 at Amsterdam Schiphol. It was a long day starting at 05:30 and ending at 18:00, but it was worth it, sometimes you have to do crazy things to just get that picture you want.
Landing arround 10 o'clock and departing at 18:00 from runway 18L. It was a great sight and it was great fun with Stefan and Daan.
1. First the ATC guided the A380 over the field, what a nice suprise from them.
2. There were a lot of busses next to the runway wich made photographing difficult. There was also one irritating yellow truck that parked about 20 seconds before touch down right in front of the crowd, what a retard! (we did let him know)
3.
4. The horizon is all wrong but I liked the contrast.
5.
6. All the operators are displayed on the forward section of the aircraft.
7. Departing at runway 18L, we had a very nice spot.
8. Bye bye A380, hope to see you soon at Schiphol.
Now I'm even more exciting about the trip with Daan to Paris! A380 here we come (hope they don't change the aircraft )
