Any known reason for both delays? Has the delay of the AKE anything to do with the fact that it was suppose to be a tankeraircraft?

I understood that the AKE was an airframe previously build to be a prototype for the USAF.

The to be delivered A330-200 PH-AON is the ex-KC30 prototype if I recall correctly.

Already found it on the web. The tanker one is the PH-AON. My mistake. But still, any ideas why both aircraft are delayed?

Website PA0SNY gives today the following info:
PH-AKE, A330-300 OF KLM - planning per Feb 11, 2013:
delivery and flight to Amsterdam will be on February 18 (most realistic schedule)
GROUND CHECKS ON FEB 14,
FLIGHT CHECKS FEB 15, 2013,
FLIGHT HOME (delivery flight) on FEB 18, EXPECTED IN AFTERNOON.
Flightplan is for flight number KL7472. The flightplan for KL7472 is filed for 17h00z departure (18:00 local time).

Website PA0SNY adds: Aircraft doesn't pass a critical test ("de machine komt niet door een kritische test heen".)

I just had inside information, the delivery flight will be on February 22nd.

In Norwich (UK) are still 4 (former) KLM 737-400's, the status:
- PH-BTA >> in storage, for sale
- PH-BTB >> sold to Gainjet as SX-ATF late 2012, is in maintenance/parked in NWI
- PH-BTF >> sold to FirstAir as C-xxxx, will be ferried to Canada in March
- PH-BTG >> sold to FirstAir as C-xxxx, will be ferried to Canada in March

PH-AKE now delayed till the 28th of February!!

FLIGHT CHECKS FEB 22, 2013, (flightradar 24: probably AIB11YL or AIB12YL)
FLIGHT HOME (delivery flight) on FEB 27, EXPECTED IN AFTERNOON.
Flightplan for flight number KL7472 is filed for 17h00z departure.

Update: please be aware that the schedule may improve with one or two days (February 25 or 26)
