Editted my earlier post again, and the F-18's and A-10's are now complete. There are some more supporters on base, the serials will follow later. Please note that the scramble database is only for 60% of the 12 Hornets accurate!
Lajes is expecting another flight of Hornets in the coming days.............
nice weekend,
George.

F-18's
hi,
Another 12 Hornets where traveling trough Lajes this week. They arrived on Monday and departed today. Unfortunately no serials, no pics and no futher details this time !!!
Adiosso
George
p.s. They had CE codes on the tails, which makes them VMFA-225 examples.

Re: F-18's
Hi,
Only thing I can add is that they were routing westbound (they did Moron - Lajes on monday).

As I already announced some days ago, elements of VMFA(AW)-225 "Vikings" (MAG-11, 3rd MAW), MCAS Miramar, California (tailcode CE), were relieved in place at Al Asad Airfield, Iraq, by elements of VMFA-115 "Silver Eagles" (MAG-31, 2nd MAW), MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina (tailcode VE).falcon wrote:hi,

Thank you, guys, for all twelve spotted VE serial numbers!
A swap of AV-8B Harriers is currently expected by elements of VMA-542 "Tigers" (MAG-14, 2nd MAW), MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina (tailcode WH), deployed to Al Asad Airfield, Iraq, since late 2007.falcon wrote:News is dropping in again......pfff
Lajes is expecting,
17th March
4 EA-6B's
18th March
6x Harrier, possible USMC
Only one sample pic of their deployment:

Probably thereĀ“s also a swap of EA-6B Prowlers at Al Asad.
Please note: All of you are very helpful aircraft spotters. But let me tell you: IĀ“m special interested in documenting OEF/OIF aircraft deployments. And in this case, at first I check news media coverage and public U.S. military websites, and secondly I check deployment/redeployment stopover info given by this great topic.
Is there any other people on Scramble who is interesting to share OEF/OIF aircraft deployment news? I would be very grateful to meet any new friend!
