Just look at all the replies in the Thai, Laos or Myanmar airfield topics… none.

This message board is hijacked by these Thai 'reports'.
How long will admin allow this?
Thank you for your opinion. To answer your question: As long as we like.

Or make topics for every general aviation airfield in the US and report every Ce172 flight?
What ever makes you happy, as long as you follow the general rules.
pjgross wrote:I am sure admin can see how many times these post are actually read and by who.
My guess: not many times and by very very few. How complicated is it to make a separate corner of board for this?
All topics are viewed in 4 figure digits. Some high in this range, some lower ... what does this means? (nothing in my humble opinion)

Our MB list shows the last ten topic posts, that is a dedicated option and is related to the active topics. Depending on various timezones certain continents are active in the morning, some in the afternoon and some in the evening.

This is something that has been on my mind for a long time. Many times I have wanted to start a thread like this. Personally I think these logs are completely pointless. Who cares what plane landed on some south east Asian airport? If someone wants to know, try to find a Thai spotters forum. Besides it is just a small selection (please don't let it become more) so it is so utterly pointless.

For many forum readers here (like me) it just clutters the forum. Instead of finding interesting and relevant posts, I have to search and search to find that one interesting post amidst all this Asian stuff. So instead of being interesting it is hindering forum readers.

Come on guys, I understand the sentiments but what is clutter to one is info to another. Those topics get plenty of views. Besides, the 'Active Topics' filter is just a utility, you can always check the areas you are interested in via the menus. Logged in, the markings reveal where there is content new to you. Yes, it's more clicks. Yes, the perfect feature would be to filter active topics from your own set of subforums. The software doesn't provide that though and none of us have a 'right' to this forum being completely to our own liking.

Pushing moderators to 'take action against' someone sharing lots of info that you (or I) are not interested in, is quite inappropriate if you ask me. Please accept that in a community, not everyone has the same taste (pun not really intended) and use your superior reading skills as a spotter to pick out the topics you like. I can do it, so you can too. Please.

Personally I skip the Thai and prefer the Scramble MB and a good BBQ. For all other enthusiasts and moderators: thanks for putting your free time in keeping us aviation enthusiasts informed and moderated, keep this messageboard alive!! :scramble:

Got to admit that some information is very good for me and others not of my interest, I struggle more with all the airliner reports for Schiphol to find interesting bizjets in the daily lists for EHAM but understand so good that others like to report on which runway that new Airbus will be arriving so who's interested can get that perfect picture. Personally missed the C145 message on EBAW this week, maybe that was because of a lot of other messages that don't have my interest but can only blame myself for not looking good enough. I'm not going to have an opinion on how another enthousiast enjoy this hobby.

here's a suggestion: is it possible to make a sub forum for all airfield logs that are reported through ADSB? And not get these listed in the "new posts" or "active topics" shortcuts? Now and again it is a proper Thai alfabet soup when you're looking for just Dutch or European movements.

I'll ask our IT department if we can incorporate something like this.

Like Erik says: you can check the areas you are interested in, just check the European sections. Personally I never look at the list of most recent posts, I login and see which topics have new posts since my last visit. From these I select the ones I am interested in (and I ignore the rest).

Yes Michel N...but that doesn't hold much birds nest soup. It was said of Albert Einstein (who of course didn't speak English) that at age 4 his first words were "the soup's too hot", the inference being that until that point everything was OK. So too for our Thai viewers who maybe take a different slant on soup, and spotting.
