Quite likely a overstatement to state 'wrecked'. In RAF terms the F-15 would probably be classified at about CAT3. Back to KSTL for some more TLC for that one.

If this was based on a story in the Daily Wail, as the report on ASN would suggest, it's accuracy is in doubt from the get-go.

'Wrecked??" Hardly - more like the rain tires weren't fitted and she slid of the runway. Pilot(s) may have misjudged and pulled the striped handle
New canopy , a couple of bang seats - good as new !!!

According to the video, the bird landed at Scott AFB, which is in Illinois while St.Louis is on the other side of the river, in Missouri (which coincides with the name of that same river :lol: ).

The civil side of Scott AFB markets itself as East St Louis Airport.

Similar to Ryanair quoting a flight to Frankfurt-Hahn, or Glasgow-Prestwick. Could they get away with Amsterdam East (Eindhoven)?
