Some 100-150 spotters were present at Volkel, so your information was clearly highly appreciated Joostmil! Thanks again

More like 200.patrick dirksen wrote: ↑24 Mar 2021, 12:19 Some 100-150 spotters were present at Volkel, so your information was clearly highly appreciated Joostmil! Thanks again
I counted at least 130 alone at south side.
Next to those in the landing and at spottersplek.
But great heads-up. Very interseting aircraft, although very boring grey.
Just put 66043 on a “boring grey” aircraft, and it suddenly isn’t that boring anymorepatrick dirksen wrote: ↑24 Mar 2021, 12:19 But great heads-up. Very interseting aircraft, although very boring grey.

Re: EHVK 24-03-2021 MIL
Does anyone know why they use the model name CN235 instead of C-144 just like the USCG?
And can anyone confirm the FY 96? This frame is produced in 2007. So FY 06 is more likely.

Afaik the connumber is supposed to be 176 but hasn't been confirmed, so the build year is not certain. Furthermore the fiscal year is the year of reserving funds, so that could be a lot earlier than the actual production. I agree it is not likely this is 10 years earlier, but these *could* be explanations I think.

Martijn, I can't say for sure, below my thoughts, the 1st AFSOC Cn235 was noted in 1998, 1st USCG HC144A was delivered in 2006. AFAIK all the AFSOC CN235's are still active in the FAA register with a civil contractor Turbo Flight. So could that be the reason why they are CN235's, they are not owned by the USAF and therefore have no C1xx designation?
For the FY, there are more aircraft in the 60xx range, all have been quoted with FY years in several sources, i think none has 100% confirmed. One exception is Cn235 66046 which has been checked by Hans vd V.. The plate stated Customer Serial 96-6046, so not FY, and accepted jul-04.
My theory (based on guessing) is that AFSOC has created a separate range for there aircraft, below what i have. The FY mentioned in various databases seem to originate from the first note, so for instance B707 86005 was first noted in 1997, in that case FY98 is not possible, so they claim it is FY 88.
